Patrick L Young is a lifelong entrepreneur whose fascination with finance and financial technology spurred him to write the original ‘fintech’ bestseller “Capital Market Revolution!” (FT Prentice Hall 1999) a decade before the term “fntech” itself was even deployed! Patrick has WWW e-commerce experience dating back to 1994 and is a former stock exchange CEO.
Patrick has been a keen product innovator, helping create modern Single Stock Futures as well as the prediction markets (he was a cofounder of Tradesports / Intrade) and began doing things with Blockchains back when it provoked anxious corporates to wave crucifixes while cowering in trepidation under their desks.
Patrick publishes the benchmark daily newsletter for market structure: “Exchange Invest” (ExchangeInvest.com) read by exchange executives from the Chairman of NYSE down to the newest microexchanges. His latest book the EI1000, the 1000 most influential people in world market structure was published in September 2017.
In broader business, he has been a director of a PE fund, as well as running ventures in publishing and retail as well serving on multiple company boards and cofounding a European startup network “Mission ToRun Business.”
Patrick has contributed more than 1000 articles including opinion pieces for many of the world’s leading financial newspapers as appearing regularly on TV and speaking at conferences worldwide.
A leader (top 5%) with Gerson Lehrman Group, Patrick is available to provide direct advice on all aspects of investing in financial infrastructure world-wide.
